XV INTERNATIONAL FINE ARTS COMPETITION JOY OF EUROPE 2013

About the Competition

City of Belgrade, International Committee of European Children's Gathering "Joy of Europe" and the Children's Cultural Center Belgrade anounce the XIV International Drawing and Painting Art Competition "Joy of Europe" 2013.

On the occasion of the first European Children's Gathering, one of the most important Serbian literary authors for children, Dusko Radović, made  "Dictionary of Friendship", which for 42 years is a universal theme, choosing fifteen "most beautiful" words for children: Europe, bread, game, Book, love, mother, peace, father poem, a friend, a bird, joy, freedom, sunshine.

Events Committee has decided that in 2013, the inspiration for the artistic expression will be: ROCK N’ ROLL, with its universal message of understandable connectivity and ability to overcome all differences and boundaries. ROCK N’ ROLL is a cultural phenomenon which has clearly influenced the course of civilization over the last sixty years. It came out during the 50-ies of the last century as a musical genre that combines the influences of jazz, blues, boogie woogie, rhythm and blues, but also the elements of folk, spiritual and country music, and as such it has always been able to connect different cultures around the world.

Sounds of magical noise that has for many generations become synonymous with rebellion against the established social forms also became the expression of discontent and hope. Many theorists have identified the term ROCK N’ ROLL with the teen culture that have "chosen to live instead of surviving," "to love, rather than tolerate," "to see life in them and around them", because rock and roll originally meant the way of life and thinking.

The question of the third millennium is if the younger generations are still close to the messages of great rock and roll hits that changed the world during the 20th century?
Are the movement, intensity and color of various forms in different art techniques appropriate response to a given topic?
